The women who come on yoga retreats with me are diverse in background, identity, interests, and life experience. What they share in common is a spirit of open mindedness to the new: new experiences, new foods, new cultures, new languages, new people.
The kind of women who join my retreats are
- Curious
- Kind
- Inquisitive
- Self-reflective
- Adventurous
- Willing to try new things
The women who join my yoga retreats are not necessarily
- Extroverted
- Widely traveled
- Experienced yogis
The women who join me on retreat are not immediately comfortable with all things new and exciting, but they are open to experiencing and trying new things. On my Morocco retreats (2022-2024), for example, my retreat groups had the chance to:
- Do yoga every day
- Ride camels
- Cook delicious Moroccan food
- Practice daily journaling and meditation
- Soak in the calming atmosphere of the Moroccan bath (hammam)
Every year my retreat participants try one, if not many, new things. They approach each day with a spirit of excitement and willingness. They also support each other through discomfort and cultural differences.
Women come on my yoga retreats to do three main things
- Deepen their yoga practice
- Experience an intentional cultural immersion
- Meet other amazing women
They join retreat with the intention of living life on purpose, of taking a week to pause, reflect, and assess what they’re doing and how they’re living their lives.
I am lucky to be the organizing force behind these yoga retreats to bring incredible groups of women together in community with each other. Because, that’s the whole point of it all, isn’t it? To build community. To love each other. To find solace in our female friendships when things get hard. (This is why my retreats are all women, by the way.)
Retreats are the small part I play in reducing the suffering in this world. On retreat we share, commune, heal. On my retreats we remind ourselves what’s really good in this world: love, community, and the care we show ourselves and each other.
