Why my retreats are all-women

Why my retreats are all-women

My retreats are all women because, as women, we deserve to have a space all our own. We deserve silence. We deserve rest, quiet, and restoration. We deserve to not have to explain ourselves. We deserve a break. We deserve to be surrounded by other women who love what we love. To find community, sisterhood, when it can be so hard to make friends and build real connections as an adult. We deserve all of this, and more.

The uniqueness of an all-women retreat

All-female spaces are beautiful. Growing up with two moms and attending all-girls school, I know that magic happens when women come together: sharing, tears, safety, joy, tears, laughter, ease. On retreat we make space in our lives for something truly meaningful, spiritual, unique and special.

Honestly it’s hard to describe.

Retreat is something so visceral, so temporal, so ephemeral. No one is working, no one is distracted. Retreat is full-on, intense. It’s unlike any trip you’ve probably ever taken.

But why no men? Because the world is made for men. My all-women retreats are my way of carving out space for us. This is my way for holding space for (my fellow) women in a world that doesn’t hold space for us. This is my way of reducing suffering in this world, for healing our hurts, our wounds, our traumas. Healing: That’s what we’re all looking for, that’s what we have the space for only on an all-women retreat. No qualifying, no gaslighting, just pure joy, light, and love.

Why go on a yoga retreat with me

There are lots of yoga retreats out there, but not many that are all-women and led by someone who deeply understands French culture, history, and language. Mixed-gender spaces have their time and place. Everyday, work life, home life, as women we interface with men all the time. We live in a world run by men, who, let’s face it, don’t always have our best interests at heart. We need deep connections with other women if we are to survive all this.

Retreat is honestly something out of a movie. Long, full days filled with yoga, sunshine, meditation, journaling, introspection, sleep, swimming, ancient French villages, fragrant lavender fields all with your (future) friends.

You deserve all this beauty and job and more. Join me this summer (July 27-August 1) in the South of France!
